Old Tapes

I recall as a child coming across these audio tapes of a man speaking, and while I was looking for good music and found none, his voice was curious. The stories he told were familiar but not anything I had lived or known, perhaps it was my recollections of adult conversations, and I was awe struck.

Turns out it was my late great grandfather.

He had recorded his stories for his future generations.

Its not unlike other cultures to record and pass along stories to further generations. Simply the mediums and methods for doing so have changed.

In the 21st century, have we de-valued human connection in exchange for some pop and flash with a sexy story line?

We all have a story.  And we should care about each other’s stories if for no other purpose than for human connection.

Let’s start connecting.
